“and I want you all to hear me…and really listen now to what I have to say”
–from Kill Him And Tell God He Died
Patrick Boothe is a Texas musician based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and currently playing around the metroplex. His 2nd cd Finally The View Has Changed came out in January and is currently available at the SHOP PAGE.
The new LP is a mix of piano based melodies, electronic bursts, and jagged, haunting harmonies melted in to an industrial package of rock, pop, americana, blues, soul, and other unnamed and maybe unexplored entities of music.
The lyrics on the album reflect an unsure and unstable but introspective view of life of a twenty-something vying to see beauty in the tribulations of getting your shit together.
Songs like “Sorry For What I’ve Done” and “Kill Him And Tell God He Died” have socially driven themes of intolerance and the basis of hate, while more personal songs like “What I Didn’t Know” and “Wonderful Magic” have a more revealing connection with the listener.
The new LP was recorded partly in Patrick’s home studio environment, and partly in the professional environment of Next Level Studios in Irving, Texas. Finishing touches were completed at HGM Studios in Hurst, Texas.
Finally The View Has Changed was preceded by the alterna-firey 2003 debut Dub Escape, a more aggressive and experimental affair, the entire contents were recorded at home, including all the screaming, much to Patrick’s neighbors’ dismay.
Both LPs are available at Tower Records, Dallas and were released on patrick’s self-made abusing music imprint.
